The author has been a journalist for more than 30 years and has lived in London, England and in Washington, DC where the stories are set.

He has worked for The Times, the BBC and UPI, among dozens of others over his extensive journalistic career and has held almost every editorial position in the profession.

He has taught journalism in both the UK and the USA.
